Besides, during the summer, the days are longer the further north you go, and around the equator, the days never get much longer than 14 hours. I don't know where you got that 16 hour stuff, but it's not true.

If you had a big sunny southern facing window in the northern hemisphere, it might work. But you'd probably want to start in the spring or summer, like any outdoor grow. It would try to go right into flower if started now.

Of course, you're much more likely to be caught with a plant in the window for everyone to see.

I can't get hold of a decent light for a while, until I get another job, so is it any good starting my plant out on the window ledge until I can get a decent grow light?
