I know of immunoassay . . . . aka EMIT?? Are you familiar with the specifications of this test? say if I had no false positives what type of metabilite load would "fail" the test?

EMIT is one of the types, yes. I am not sure if it would be correct to call it a "brand name" but several companies market immunassay tests and EMIT is one of them. Basically immunoassay uses monoclonal antibodies to discover drug metabolites. The probable cutoff for the immunoassay in your test being a 5-50 is anything above 50 ng/ml of 31 different THC metabolites would be considered an initial positive. Your test would then probably confirm it with gc/ms.

You're right, it is BS. They should be able to contain themselves to only snooping into our time at work.

Why do people always come post this stuff? People, they sell drug test kits at CVS and Walgreens for like 20 bucks. They are FDA certified and pretty much the same system (chemically) that is used by the testing centers. If you pass on of those, it is safe to assume you will pass the real thing. In fact, many of the home testing devices are MORE sensative than the ones in the real labs.

I have read a lot on this site, and have yet to read a post from someone who has done this method and not passed the test, so if you are in a tough situation, give it a whirl.

It is for this reason I am all for drug testing for white collar jobs. If you are so dumb you can't A.) Stop smoking for a month or two to land a dream job cause you don't think its worth it OR B.) Read and follow simple instructions online.....i wouldn't want you working for me either. These things are not hard to fake out, and unless you are testing for the military or some kind of high level security clearance, the chances are very high your employer is not going to pay for the very sensative testing methods because they are very very expensive per person tested, and the less expensive ones will catch the more hardcore users anyway.

Me personally? I am an information hound and I wanted to know the chemistry of my test and its specifications. I'm well aware that I can test myself. Oh, and you judging me based on 4 posts 3 sentences really sets you into the fantastic group of idiots that you despise. Grow up and "fu"

I've never failed a urine test. Passed more than a half dozenor so, becasue i do knwo how to trick the test, I do know how to take breaks and I do my research, but you wouldn't have known that now would you.

simmah down now, folks. i just needed a friend that could relate. sorry to have caused an uproar.
i start the job tomorrow because they are desperate to have the position filled. i pissed into a cup tuesday morning around 9:30 am. then it was courierred(?) over to the lab. didn't hear from them today. i'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed everything is fine.

If you passed what are you worried about? If a lab uses immunoassay then GC/MS to confirm positive results, there can be slight differences between the type of immunoassay test used but the GC/MS is pretty much standard across the board. There is one immunoassay test that is better for pot smokers than some of the others but overall the difference is none.

Whenever in doubt about whether you are clean or not, the home test is the way to go.
