Frizzazled Reviewed by Frizzazled on 09-26-2006. Reassurance Please I fill out paper work tomorrow for a very important state job. I haven't smoked in 86 days. I have a slow metabolism and I am slighty overweight. Moderate one joint a day smoker. My career/life will be ruined if I don't pass this test. Am I safe? Is there any chance at all not to pass a urine test? I'm just FREAKIN OUT, right? Thanks Wish I were a BLAZIN. Rating: 5

well it wasn't exactly a lab. it was a company that tests offshore and refinery workers. i just pissed in a cup, he stuck a gadget in and pulled the strips off. im just paranoid because if i dont pass this test i will be disowned by my family and will never be able to have a career in what i went to college for.
i filled out the paper work today and my test is tomorrow morning.

You need to calm the hell down brother. All you need is a 30 day break to pass a piss test. Your more then fine!:thumbsup:

I wouldn't drink a ton of water because then you might be dilute but a little extra than normal would be fine. Urinating several times before the test will not hurt at all. Never give your first void of the day, which is rare. Who wakes up and holds it till the test.

There are plenty of people that still test dirty after 30 days. People who are overweight or have a low level of activity often times take longer than 30 days to get clean. You really shouldn't say that "all you need is a 30 day break" because this is not always the case. There are people that come on here and don't do enough research and read just a few posts and might not realize that you are talking about this guy in particular and think they will be fine and then fail.

I have a Chemistry degree so I am familiar with the procedures of a GC/MS and I know that SAP is for something abuse protocol or something close to that, the code 5-50 stands for 5 types of drugs being checked to 50ng/ml but mine was checked for a "SAP 5-50+ GC/MS. what is the "+"? can't find that info anywhere.

Are you familiar with immunoassay? Many drug tests use immunoassay first since it is cheaper than GC/MS, then if a positive shows up, it is confirmed with GC/MS because it is more accurate and can eliminate the few false positives that may occur. So the + I think is referring to confirmation by gc/ms and not gc/ms as being the first test conducted. SAP stands for substances of abuse panel and the 50 only referes to marijuana. Most of the other thresholds are set and the requester of the test can choose from 100, 50, or 20 for THC.

I know of immunoassay . . . . aka EMIT?? Are you familiar with the specifications of this test? say if I had no false positives what type of metabilite load would "fail" the test?
