Well, seeing as how I've lived in New York state my whole life, I would classify under the category of Yankee the way you're defining it. But I am also an anarchist, militantly opposed to the institutions of the state, capitalism and religion, and advocating their abolition, so I like to call myself a rebel too. Just not the pro-slavery Confederate patriot kind.
