How long will it take for pot to be legalized in the US? I hope some day I can smoke a joint with my son and say, "You know, when I was your age...I had to hide this."

You say that now, but you won't want your son smoking when hes young.

I'm handing my kid a joint as soon as he's able to keep the thing up to his mouth by himself!
lol jk, but seriously, I hope to be the first to introduce my son to it. Probably around 18 or so, when I started, after high school.
I'd say within the next 20 years, no later than that. I don't know about full legalization, but I suspect within the next 10 years we'll see it decriminilized worldwide. I think it all starts with the States, since we have such a big influence, like it or not, around the world.

I truly think decriminalization is coming. Most likely, it will start in a State, with State laws decriminalizing it since they know, first-hand, the laws are not working. Nevada has a bill like this up right now, I hope it passes.
Once that happens, the Federal and State governments will be at-ends, but with the right conditions (I'm not of either political party but I think the Dems will legalize it faster than the Republicans) it could change on the Federal level.
If this Nevada law passes we could see things happening very soon, if it doesn't I'd think it'd be another 5 years or so until another bill goes up somewhere else.

Same here. I think that in a few years (quite a few), MJ will be legal (to an extent. Private usage, not in public ect) in Nevada, then Colorado, closely followed by California. But that's being really optimisticOriginally Posted by Bob the Awesome

To our criminal government, it is only about $, everything else comes after the $, it will more than likely remain illegal for many many years to come, but who cares, I know the legal status of the "drug" is BS, so I smoke anyway!
