Trying to remember how long I vegged those for. I think it was like two months, maybe ten weeks, around there. I didn't want them flowering until I got back from Bonnaroo, so I just let 'em keep growing until then, and when I put them in flowering, boom, they exploded into giant bushes.

And yes, pull them under the screen whenever you see leaves or buds trying to stick through it. If you're gentle, you won't snap any stems or anything; I never have.

I do think white paint is better than aluminum foil. Aluminum foil in conjunction with powerful lights can cause hotspots and burn your plants or, even worse, start a fire. I wouldn't mess with aluminum foil, not when a can of paint costs like 10 bucks or something. Better safe than sorry! My home burned down last year (totally unrelated, old wiring, old house) and trust me, you don't want to wake up at 5:30 AM in the morning with your home burning down, because, well, it sucks! But that reminds me: keep a fire extinguisher handy, just in case. Wally World sells some cheap ones. I guess now that my house *has* burned down before, I'm a little paranoid about that now.
