Head-in-the-Sand Liberals
Good article, interesting points. I do believe however that he exagerates the situation. Yes, there are many people who would describe themselves as "liberals" who are just the way Harris described them, and for the most part, the leadership of the liberal faction of the democratic party (as well as many other small parties) is dominated by these "head-in-the-sand" liberals. But at the same time, I think you'll find just as many people who, again, would describe themselves as liberals, but who do realise that this is a matter of religious fanacticism, not poverty and inadequate economic oppertunities.
