Depends how big you want them and what strain your seeds are. Rough guide seedling for 2 weeks, 2-4 weeks veg growth, 8-10 weeks flowering, total 12-16 weeks.

repot when you can see roots coming out of the bottom hole in the pot, as they are becomming rootbound. You can also tell by the plants behavior, color etc if it needs to repotted. my plants are big and had a long veg period so I repotted to 5 gallon buckets for the rest of the grow. remember that when you put the plant into flowering it will double or triple in size from the time you set it into flowering mode... figure out what your grow space is limited to and decide your veg time that way... Good luck
I actually have never grown cannabis, and since it is still stupidly illegal, I would NEVER EVER think of doing such a thing. All that I post here is complete fiction that I pulled out of my ass. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Simple light potting soil (composted cow manure and leaf compost with perlite), no ferts, for seedlings.
Similar mix plus fish emulsion for veg.
All of the above plus bat guano and a touch of lime (because by that time there is the risk of salt buildup/low pH) for flower.
