Oh man, hip-hop beats make the world vibrate if done right, and the lyrical genius behind the verses is what makes it all so great. The beat is what supports a track, it just helps the MC keep a constant beat going to spit out profoundly thought out verses to make a point, ya know? Some MC's rid of painful feelings by describing personal experiences in metaphoricaly structured verses. As for the ones that have been around for longer...their concepts of being an MC is beyond many people's understandings. The metaphors also let the listener create a whole different perspective about the song, and relate it's aspects to their own life's. Even better, it opens up never-ending possibilities to imagine when the rapper knows how to make you experience these states. Aesop Rock, for example, leaves an open door after every song. A lot of underground artists from all over the world can bend, stretch, cut, and simply manipulate linguistic skills to amazing levels. Amazing enough to listen to it, and be very inspired by the message that's sent out, or created in the mind, ah.

I'm not talking about any mainstream rap that's been out lately, by the way.

Poetry is an art, after all!
