What if we actually got a real american in the white house and all the years we wasted disrespecting the presidency.... we would be conditioned to hate the Pres. Do you see that is wrong.

We need to get Bush out, and real american in, and respect the Office the whole time.

The same reason you dont make movies.... showing the pres being shot.

If you get condition to see it...at some point it becomes OK.

If you get conditioned to Hate the Pres you allways will. You start a Habit.

    Please respond
I see what you mean Bong. I hadn't thought of it that way but it does make sense. It kind of brings us back full circle to my original point. It's sad that we have a president that would make people agree with someone like Chavez and sad that we have a President that makes it so easy to disrepect the office of the presidency. I just hope that whomever the next president is, understands that they've got a big job ahead of them. Bringing well deserved respect back to their position that is.

Hey again, Bong. You may be a right-winger, but I happen to know you're no nut-job. You just get riled on occasion and get emotional. I confess I've seen little glimpses of the deep thinker and a very sweet and tender guy on several occasions, and even tho we don't agree politically, I think the world of you. So not everyone hates you! Not some of us nice ones, at least. XXOO

Venezuela fails in first UN seat voteFrom correspondents in the United Nations

NEITHER Venezuela nor Guatemala earned enough votes today in the first round of UN polling to win Latin America's non-permanent seat on the Security Council.

Guatemala won 109 votes to 76 for Venezuela, but 124 were needed to win the seat, General Assembly President Haya Rashed Al-Khalifa announced. There were seven abstentions.

Mr Khalifa said there would be another round of voting later today.

Venezuela, whose President Hugo Chavez is a fierce critic of the United States, and Guatemala, strongly supported by Washington, have been in a pitched battle for the regional seat for months.

The assembly meanwhile elected Belgium, Italy, South Africa and Indonesia to the four other open non-permanent seats on the council. The five countries elected overnight will replace Denmark, Greece, Tanzania, Japan and Argentina, which will leave the council at the end of the year.

The UN Security Council is made up of 15 members, including five veto-wielding permanent members (China, United States, France, Germany and Russia) and 10 non-permanent members, five of which are replaced every year.

The five non-permanent members which will serve until the end of 2007 are Congo, Ghana, Peru, Qatar and Slovakia.
