That plastic bong is not a worry about inhaling harmful toxins. Your smoking out of the metal bowl and no flame gets in contact with the plastic. It's the metal bowl you're burning, and if that bothers you, to each his own, but I have owned a few bongs made of plastic and nothing ever melted.
