i get paid tomorrow, and today im low on funds and i need a few things, will i be alright if i went to walmart and wrote a check? i have 0.00 in my account right now.

Some states have automatic check confirmation that can check weather or not you have a good check. If this is the case, all they will do is tell you that they can't take it, it is not like it's not your check, but I doubt they have it. If you do want to go, I would try until a little later in the day so your check doesn't go out with a early money check deposit to the bank and get processed, which is also a low likely hood, but these two things are about all I can find in the way of being a problem.

if you get caught stealing anything
under 20 dollars

Just wait until you get paid. They may check it on the spot and reject it, saying you insufficiant funds, which can be embarassing in a line up of people. Or, your check will bounce. Wal-Mart will cash it, and you will owe your bank that money for the bad check, which doesn't help you in any shape or form.

ok yeah im in ohio, and one day i tried to buy shit at eb games and they wouldnt take my check

A lot of places don't take checks anymore, and if I remeber right, I don't think Wal-Mart would be one of them, for this exact reason.

I do it at Wal*Mart all the time... You got a good 2 days before the check hits your bank...
