No, no, hon. Don't freak out. You're just fine. You wouldn't be feeling as well as you are and sitting up typing entries on a cannabis forum if you weren't. Trust me. I wasn't meaning to make you doubt yourself of your mom's judgement. Sounds like she did precisely the right things. Moms are good like that when it comes to treating their kids.

I was just meaning to explain that a fever below 105 can be dangerous, too. You know what the bottom-line reason was that our fire department's policy was to transport at 103 or higher? Liability, basically. If we made the choice not to take people in when their fevers reached that level, we ran the risk of being liable if they did end up having lasting damage or dying of a serious infection later. When fevers have reached the 103 point, often they're not through climbing, so most emergency medical services take a better-safe-than-sorry approach. They're especially careful about elderly people, who can develop serious pneumonias very quickly, and teenagers and college students, who are particularly susceptible to meningiococcemia, a deadly blood infection that results from the same bacteria that causes meningitis.

Again, I don't believe you had any sort of deadly infection like meningitis or meningiococcemia. I think you probably had a fast-acting virus of some kind, which, fortunately, you shook very quickly. Worry no more. You're clearly on the mend. Be sure and keep drinking lots of fluids to rehydrate yourself!

Thanks. Yea, my dad just got back in town and he went to med school and said as long as it was only for an hour or so that I would be fine. I'm just supprised I shook it off so fast. I went from seriously thinking I was going to die to sitting up typing entries on cannabis forums. I was probably just freaking out. Bird girl, I know people compliment you all the time but you are seriously one of the most useful people I've ever encountered in my life. You need to start a cannabis friendly practice, even if you dont state it as being so outright

    Glad you're feeling better, however.

Yeag, if anyone ruined this tread, I was that person. If you'll recall, Fikusroot was touting an effective home remedy he used when he was sick, which was weed. So you can blame me, who didn't post any remedies or keep with the topic. Oh, and you can blame yourself as well.

NWDankBudz, you're a kind person to say such a nice thing. Thank you for that. I do sometimes turn into a mom on here, and I really need not to do that, despite the fact that I love most of you guys in that mom-like way. I think I'm probably working out a touch of my own empty-nest-mom syndrome!

Fikusroot, thank you, too. I always enjoy talking with you, and I do intend to have a weed-friendly practice when I finish school. The only potential problem with that is the two specialties I'm leaning toward are pediatrics and emergency medicine, both of which present some unique challenges to weed advocacy. Things may change, however. We'll see.

Yea... I cant imagine to many mothers being to happy when you prescribe their kids antibiotics and 1 gram of Marijuana a day in the afternoon. Heh heh heh, I can see it now. DOCTOR, THIS MAN NEEDS 20cc's OF SOME STONG BUD STAT!!! But anyway, I know yeags a constant troller but I deal with lots people like him in real life so I just take it all in stride. I'm fairly talented at shutting people like him up. And are you a moderator birdgirl? I dont know how much time you'd have but you'd pobably make a good one. I wonder if you get paid anything to be one...
