Why R my buds so fluffy?

I was using a 400w hps about 12" above plant

Newb question, how far away should a 400 watt HPS be from the plant? I know the general rule of testing the heat with the back of your hand but are there any specifics?

Zoidberg Reviewed by Zoidberg on 09-18-2006. Why R my buds so fluffy? my buds weighed 100g total and now they have lost alot of weight and are really fluffy. I would say outta that 100g I got about 30g dried weight. Is it cause I used cheap ferts? Rating: 5
