Why R my buds so fluffy?

my buds weighed 100g total and now they have lost alot of weight and are really fluffy. I would say outta that 100g I got about 30g dried weight. Is it cause I used cheap ferts?

Things that can contribute to fluffy buds are, Using Super Thrive in flower, high temps, lights to high or not enough light intensity or just a theory, possibly light leeks, but the last is purely speculative.

Buds will lose much of their weight during the drying process. You should never look at immediate harvest weights as the final weight. Much of your immediate weight comes from water in the veins of the plant. After your plants have had time to dry out then you should weigh them and get your final measurement. What you are describing is very normal and it has nothing to do with anything you did during the grow.

Buds will usually loos well over 50% of weight when dried. I thought you were wondering about the fluffyness more than the weight though. Maybe both?

hello weed4life i must say they are right light leakes temps how close your light is all have a part to play ... but i must say i think your buds look yummy.. not to fluufy atal.. i would gladly smoke them i allso thought damn my buds have lost so much weight during dryin.. but the smoke is very good so dont worry to much.. what starin is them buds?? nice lookin shit thete m8.. enjoy. also u will get a lot more spliffs out of ur dry weed .. more so then the heavey wet weed you buy on the street:thumbsup:

Thanks all for your responses. I was using a 400w hps about 12" above plant or lower, temps got up to 86 and I checked for light leakage during first grow and fixed all leaks. I do not know what strain it is except it was Indica. It came outta sum bagseed that I brought with me from California. LMAO mrberrys. Yeah I guess I was it was both, but now I know what to expect. Would hydro improve quantity alittle? Also, I guess it didnt help with the soil being 4.5 during the flowering phase? Hmmm... was that the reason????
Kush- I realized that and I figured I was gonna get about 50% which woulda been 1 1/2 oz but I am happy with my 1st successful indoor grow and the buds are really crystally(whatever) from the trichomes. I have them in mason jars now except two main colas which is still drying.
Why are street buds so compact? is that from compressing? Anywho it was a great and awesome experience and I love watching them grow up and flowering is amazing!!! Thanks all again.
