I have a small (12inch) male that is loaded with seeds. They are all red/white striped seeds, very distinct two-red two-white sided stripes.

Is this how they all look before they turn solid?

Male plants never have seeds. If you have a plant loaded with seeds, it's a female, in the same way that every pregnant human being you see is a female. Heh.
