The Flint Area Narcotics

Group (FANG) reported this

week that officers have seized
more than 900 marijuana plants

that were being grown in Thetford,

Richfield, Mt. Morris and

Montrose townships this week.

According to Lt. Mitch Krugielki,

the state police commander

of FANG, a unit composed

of state and local police

officers, the seizures started

Township, where marijuana

was being cultivated inside

and outside the house.

Then, working with state

police aircraft to spot plants

from the air on Thursday, FANG

officers located another 346

plants for a total of 907, he said.

Some of the biggest plots of

pot cultivation were in cornfields

and wooded areas, where

the property owner or farmer

who owned the land said they

had no idea the plants were

there, Krugielki said.

Lt. Dwayne Cherry of the

Genesee Township police department,
who is assigned to FANG,

said the seizures ranged from a

few plants at one location to 200
and 500 plants in others.

Police said their investigation

into the cultivation of the pot

plants is continuing, and said

anyone wanting to report drugs

and drug crimes should call

FANG at (810) 233-3689.
