Best lighter to use..
I have recently experienced how good bics are, they are so much better than any other lighters, and what type of lighter i use is VERY important to me and i know alot of others who feel the same, so dont piss take.
Kezmondo Reviewed by Kezmondo on . Best lighter to use.. I found a difference while using 2 different lighters in the same session.. I used a butane lighter and it was harsh as fuck. I switched to a regular BIC lighter and it felt real soft. Most people don't know the difference in these kind of lighters. Butane lighters can equal the price of BIC lighters so it makes it harder to realize a difference; most would think they are all the same thing what they are getting when they pick out a random lighter. Make sure you are getting a BIC lighter Rating: 5

You all are really, really, really fucking ridiculous.
A BIC lighter is a ghetto ass butane ligther. It burns butane, just like any other non-zippo lighter, it uses a flint to ignite said butane, like most lighters, and other than that it's just a non-adjustable valve with a plastic resovoir.
A "butane lighter" is any lighter that burns butane, including BIC lighters. I don't know what you are referring to as a "butane lighter", but it popular gas station brands are Djeep, Bic, and Ronson, as well as no-name chinese ones. Expensive brands of butane lighters (some are in excess of $100) work in the same way, but usually use a piezoelectric lighter to ignite the butane. A piezoelectric lighter makes a small spark by compressing a quartz crystal (I honestly don't know exactly how that works).
A "jet" or "torch" lighter is a lighter that mixes butane with air before ignition, make a much hotter flame. Sometime manufactureres put a small piece of metal at the top to make a colored flame, such as copper for a green flame. These tend to be more effecient, but they can also bring out harmful chemicals in metals.
A zippo is, well, we all know what a zippo is.
In the picture(from left to right):

Slim refillable butane lighter
No-name chinese lighter

No-name chinese torch lighter
Now lets all calm down, realize that unless you are talking about a torch lighter, it was just the placebo effect, and stop yelling.

i think he is right. according to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lighter there are 2 types of fuel used in lighters. either naptha or butane. all naptha lighters use a wick to deliver the fuel. this would suggest all lighters without a wick or a "zippo" are using butane.
and from my experience the only difference i have seen between a bic brand and other gas station sold brands are the design and the fact that bic is simply a far better design and construction so it lasts a lot longerDisclaimer: I don\'t fuck around \';..;\'

and this link http://www.space.com/news/bic_fuel_000822.html in the first 2 paragraphs they say LOGAN, Utah Using the same butane fuel found in cigarette lighters, the smallest propulsion system to fly in space will help a soccer ball-sized "nanosatellite" rendezvous with another spacecraft late this year.
After considering various thruster propellants, designers chose butane, so "in the end, we flew a Bic lighter in space, " said Jeffrey Ward, managing director of Britains Surrey Satellite Technology, Ltd. "It shows you can build small propulsion systems that are cheap and can work

it all depends on the situation. if you don't have to worry about wind, i'd say a BIC is the best. if you're outside on a windy day or in the winter, i'd go with a zippo.
