It isnt the melting point of aluminum foil you have to worry bout, it the oxidizing temp... i think aluminum oxide is a toxic chem

And aluminum oxidizes readily at room temperature and creates an aluminum oxide layer that protects the other aluminum from being oxidized.

Do you eat barbecue? Cooking food unprotected over an open flame is more harmful because the process of combustion actually DOES change molecules.
Oh wait, you smoke.... changing molecules by combustion....uh oh, WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!!! AAAAAAAH!
Stinky I have to disagree with you. I believe that microwaves destroy more nutritional value than any other cooking method. They all destroy some but microwaves are the worst.

It is because the high energy waves, as you know, vibrate the water molecules in food. These same waves can oxidize an electron off a molecule creating a free radical which can react with many other things like antioxidants such as vit C. I believe the waves can rip off OH2 groups off of bigger molecules too.

The main reason I kind of avoid microwaves is that there's enough energy to free plasticizers like phenates from the plastic containers that are inert at room temperature. So if I have to use them, I put the food in glass or ceramic first...
Yeah, the free radical itself sort of makes vitamin C moot. They join, the vitamin loses its antioxidant activity.

    so we agree.

yea plastic is bad in the microwave. and this stupid mini newspaper in vancouver called 24 just ran a frickin article about how it's ok to put "microwave safe" plastic in and using plastic wrap too!

there have been studies done that show that dioxins and other stuff leach into the food and in the case of plastic wrap over food it acutely drips into it!

    back to the topic.

a study was done showing that cannabis activly prevents alzheimer's disease!!!!

it competively inhibits some improtant enzyme. I've seen the study

so if the aluminum does--- the pot might stop it

"Aluminum, at temperatures below melting point, does not give off gas or vapor."
you cant melt aluminum with a lighter
and as far as i know there still isnt a known cause or any preventitive measures you can take for alzhiemers.

as my favorite zany mythbusters say..
    "busted"
