"drug of choice" induction. re: mind over matter

    Some more info...

If you ask someone "do you know what it feels like to be
inebriated?" they'd probably say yes, consciously, but that
inebriated state wouldn't (in any significant way) be available to
    them.

However the brain & the body learned what to do under the influence,
in a certain sequence. If you remind the brain what to do in what
order, it follows its own steps into the state. And sure enough,
viola, people re-experience the state. Nice thing is -- unlike with
the substance in your body -- you can then snap out of it pretty
quickly -- or you can turn it up and then turn it down -- or you can
morph it into something different, etc.

Now these states are experienced as real, usually including
diminished or delayed responses (if they chose alcohol). So I
wouldn't want someone who experienced the drug-of-choice induction
using their memory of alcohol to get anywhere near a car in that
state. However, unlike a drunk who could take hours to get sober,
the drug of choice subject has none of the actual drug in their
system, still affecting the neurology & ever-so-slowly metabolizing.
As such, drug-of-choice subjects can shake off the effect in very
    little time.

"drug of choice" induction. re: mind over matter

Last night I tried this technique. Not with weed but with something else. It only took 5 minutes of my time. I got into a relaxed and comfortable state and put my headphones on. I was playing music similar to what was playing many years ago in my experience. I ran through the steps and got a similar feeling which gave me hope that I could do more. I then got up thinking I would do it another time when I could really relax. I felt a little warm and that was about it. Then I got distracted and forgot about what I had just done. Then suddenly I became aware of the music building towards a peak and I got a very intense rush up my body... up my legs.. my spine... over my head and across my jaw. The only time I had ever felt this kind of intense feeling was while on the drug. Now that I know it is possible to get all really intense remembered sensations that I have learned I'll be trying it with every good feeling I can remember. Stacking them together and making even more intensely pleasurable sensations.

A few years ago I didn't know anything about taking control of my own brain. Then someone mentioned visualization to me as an off hand comment. Next time I had time to relax I tried it. I tried to make pictures on the back of my eyelids. This is not the way it is done. In a search to know more on the subject I started to read some visualization books. I've been doing it for a while now. It adds spice to my life. Another dimension.

A great book to get you started is "Using Your Brain: For a Change" by Richard Bandler, Steve Andreas, and Connirae Andreas. I think it may be out of print but you can get it on ebay. It was written in 1985 but is still packed with many techniques that are useful today even though a lot has been updated. One of the first parts asks the question "Who is driving the bus?". Most people go from day to day reacting unconsciously to events in their lives as they happen. They are the passengers on the bus. This book shows you how to get in the driver seat.
