I have used 3/8 crushed granite and hydrocorn.
Both got the same results but saved 8 hours in the cleaning of the buckets.
Now I think the crushed granite was easer to clean out the old solutions.
Now as far as the light geting to the plants you use thick black plast to cover the buckets, and or growing medium. :cursing: :thumbsup:
