i never said it was slowing down...i nearly said that evetually its gonna stop getting faster and evetually peak ....which will commence the start of the unvises collasping

OK. I only know a little from what I've read but the peak would theoretically be the speed of light. By this time matter would have decayed to almost nothing. The question that comes to my mind is what is pulling the universe apart? How can something speed up without something pulling or pushing it? I'll have to read some of Hawkings works to try and get my head around it all.

why would matter decay?...the time speed rate would increase so slow we wouldnt even relize it...wed go about our lives just the same

i think it could be just 1 big one...wed die...the time flow would be so fastly fucked up wed either freeze in time or speed up to the point where wed be dead and ashes in the blink of an eye

I agree with Captin, quit smoking so much pot. Time is obviously there because we witness things age. It is just at what speed things age. We are constantly going forward in time. Perhaps when you get high, all you are sensing is time slowing down for yourself, or speeding up. I think it is possible that if humans had full control over their minds, that we could alter the speed of time, at least for ourselves.

I have very deep religius beliefs, that I have attainend from my own experiences. Our human existance is traped by time, but it can be escaped. Time is an illusion, and is simply not real. It is hard to explain what I know, but trust me, I have memories of not being under the influence of time. Space is also an illusion. Everything is here and now.

I will say that I do think that time was only really created to keep us in check. "Be here by then, there by this time, then over here by then!"

We've built our world up around us to serve order, so, obviously, we needed something to make sure that things got done when we wanted them to be. Thus, time.

I really don't think that early cultures had such a strict tie to time. I think in our world, we only make ourselves more miserable because we're such slaves to time. Constantly we are bombarded with the fact that we are ALWAYS on the clock. Sometimes we have to give up sleep because of TIME. Sometimes, we have to do things in a way that is not up to par in terms of quality, because of time. We have to rush rush rush, until our lives are nothing BUT.

Time IS a knife, but like any other kind of knife, it's been in our backs since the day we were born and there is no real way we'll ever be able to get it out.
