good luck man. there's loads of info available already if you look around for it. Your question is very open ended.

I feel silly telling you to look round the forums cos you've been here longer than me but I found just reading through everyone elses stuff to help a lot. Especially to get ideas for setting up a little grow closet.

Go for it - read and ask questions on the way, it's worked for me. There are some truly good people on here and they know their stuff - just "weed" out the crap, and always read between the lines and you'll do fine.

Remember that it's quite a long process so read about the stuff that will be affecting you in the short term first of all.

well i have a few options. Im living with my mom in our 100 year old grandmas house taking care of her. My moms all good with the pot growing cuz she smokes but its my gma shes concerned about.

I dont think my grandma would know what marijuana plants looked like even if she did see them and she would leave em alone. but idk.

So Im gonna start them in the closet that gets some light from the window w/ their own lighting too. not sure whether im going with a fluorescent plant light or a full spectrum light yet tho.

I'm not here to tell you what you can and can't do but if it's your grandmas house then you should respect her wishes. Mind you, 100 year old! f.. me! give her my congrats on reaching the big one :thumbsup: You get a letter from the queen in the UK when you hit 100.

Have you already got the lights or not yet? The better the lights, the more you will grow. You can get a HPS in a smallish cabinet if you can vent the heat properly. search the forums for "cool tube". The benefit of fluros is they don't get anywhere near as hot and you can put them really close to the plants, and not worry as much about ventilation. If you go with fluros then it's worth thinking about how you can move them to keep them close to the top of the canopy.

If you are looking at sorting out a cabinet then don't bother trying to aim natural light at it. Plan your cabinet as an enclosed space. You can always shift the pots into the sun. Not sure what you mean by closet... are they built into the walls?

Look up scrog - screen of green.. LST - low stress training, or tyeing.

I havent gotten the lights yet.

The closet is like built into the wall but theres 2 slidding door so its long and not too stuffy.

i dont know how much. i was jsut gonna stick in a few seed and see what happens. im not really looking to sell. Just growing for myself so i dont have to spend anymore money.

Make a list of the things you need, like get a notepad and just write them down. Or you could just look around at what people use and write everything down. Thats what I did and now all I need is to get all the money to buy all the shit .

here's what I knocked up. I've got 4 CFLs in there at 20W and about 1200 lumens each. Not much at all, it runs really cool and uses less than £3 worth of power each month. I'm just playing about with this really, to see what can be done. I'm not expecting much from it but I made it for about £30 including bulbs and it's pretty stealthy now that I have swapped the brown tape for a magnetic strip to hold the front on.
