Some help with my Chronics plz!
Hey all,
I've had 2 Chronic plants growing in Coco and they'r now 6 weeks into flowering, just a few points I need clearing up
1) The roots have started appearing over the top of the soil, I have the plants in 5gal pots I thought this would be well big enough, are they getting root bound? They're not growing out of bottom of the pot though I can see them there.
2) How often should I be feeding? My last grow was Hydro. I've been feeding them 50/50 Coco A&B, guana, canna accelerator and pk 13-14. I've been feeding those nuts every other day and just ph'd water on the days in-between.
Sorry no pics as yet, the plants are a good 4 foot and damn bulky!

If you're talking about around the base of the plant where the roots begin to expose themselves.. well, tree's do the same thing. As they age, they take hold of the soil and make it their home. When this happens the soil actually begins to shift a small amount and compacts on itself. This will sometimes expose some roots around the base of the plant. You can choose to add more soil. Or you can choose to leave it. It's up to the grower. It's not very appealing to see roots exposed on the top of the soil, so add some more soil.
As for feeding, it seems that you're on a strong feeding routine. You will want to change this as the plant gets into flowering.. as the NPK should change once you start 12/12. Over fed plants are fairly easy to spot to the seasoned grower. So simply look around and research the forums for what an over fed plant looks like. The answers are here...and there's nobody better to have teach you .. than you.
Cheers, Happy growing.
Bob.

Thats a nice black pussy you have there BB in you ava
Well that does sound like a strong feed. If there is no problem above the grow medium, there is no problem in the grow medium. I think when you harvest you should post a pic of two of the root structure. The root structure is likely do be clutching the coco as to hold the plant up, probly why the medium is contracting and exposing the roots. Doesn't sound serious, not in them 15-20L pots any how!Thou shalt not steal the stash!
