Need Help. How do I dry my chronic properly?

Ok well I picked up some chron from a friend of mine who was selling me it for $170. I thought to myself this is a great price but there has to be something wrong with it. Well it turns out the bud smells like crap and was not dried correctly so its very moist. Is there anyway I can dry it and take the smell out? I smoked a .5 j of it and got pretty faded so there is potential with this bud.

Put paper underneath your herb. It will absorb some of the moisture, it's a slow, but steady and reliable process. If it doesn't dry very well, add more pieces of paper, but remember to keep them small, and repeat until no longer necessary. Or just leave the container open, don't let it open for too long however.

How long should I keep it out for? And also is there anything I can get that can get rid of the bad smell?

hmmmm got any pics? a bad smell could mean mold. especially if it was very damp or even white.. have you pull the buds apart to check for mold? (I assume you know what mold looks like)

If not couch is right. just let it air dry..
you can use a hair dryer to speed the process up but you want to avoid heating the bud up to much as the THC flashpoint is approx. 167 degrees F

The bud has a brownish, purpelish color. And the smell is absolutely terrible. I smoked some though and still got faded.
