Really want to start NORML canpter at my school!

I go to a school in florida with no norml chapter. Has anyone here had any experience with starting a new chapter? Just trying to do my part as a Loyal Marijuana smoker! The school is in South florida dont want to list this which one it is yet.Of course i mean a University thou:smokin:

Why not support LEAP or the MPP? I know LEAP does a lot of work on campuses... Plus they have a "balls on" mission... not to minimize the work of NORML.

or SAFER. Thats a good orginization too. They actually do more stuff then norml. They were able to get weed legal in denver and make it a low priority in columbia missouri.

NORML was the first, but they pretty well shit in their own nest many years ago, when their leader Keith Stroup, went nuts, and decided to include cocaine legalization along with marijuana ... needless to say, that tainted NORML as a 'don't touch organization', politically ... the MPP is a much more active organization, that is getting results state-by-state :thumbsup: ... I personally congratulate you on your ambitions of organizing, and would like to stress the responsibility a marijuana activist needs to demonstrate, to be effective ... first, and foremost, a marijuana activist needs to avoid the sterotypical 'wasted stoner', deadbeat, lazy, forgetful, 'wart on society's ass' image that anti-marijuana activists like to throw before the public eye ... clean up your act, be courteous, and show adult responsibility for your actions ... and, DEMAND your personal rights be acknowledged ... good luck with your uphill battle .. :smokin:

I was not even aware of the other orginizations! I would be great for a "public Pothead". I have been smoking for 8 years. I graduated from high school, am now in a good college(always did and still do get good grades). I dont have any convictions for anything!!!! although i do have a bunch of petty charges that never held up in court! God Bless America!. All bullshit aside where else can you get caught red handed(more than a few times),with evidence in court,and still walk with NO CHARGES! Not saying it comes cheap, but atleast we ALL have the oppertunity to buy are freedoms back lol!
I got a little off topic but, Image reaper you seem to know alot on the subject, are you personally in any of those Orginizations?

I donated a few bucks for a long time, to NORML, but back in the early 1970's (if memory serves me right), NORML made inroads that appeared as if marijuana just 'might' be de-criminalized, at the very least ... but then, the NORML leader, Keith Stroup, lost his mind, and decided to include cocaine as part of the legalization/decriminalization package ... naturally, the politicians jumped back, and the 'enemy' used it as 'further proof' that pot was only a 'stepping-stone' to harder, more dangerous drugs ... all the good work Stroup did, quickly unraveled ... a newer group, MPP, Marijuana Policy Project, seems to be doing the bulk of the advancements lately, and seems to really have their foot in the door of the politicians ... I get their weekly updates and notices, but financially, I am unable to contribute $$$ ... wow image reaper i went on the link you provided, i liked what i saw ,execpt when i couldnt write a letter to my representitive, because they wanted ,my name adress phone number everything short of a urine sample.! i dont want all my info on file as a marijuana supporter! I'm going to use a different name for that,but it got me thinking, Is joining one of these orginizations going to bring me a lot of unwanted attention>???? I wana do more than make a donation, i just dont wana not be able to go around the dorms and smoke because im being watched(or buy grow or smoke for that matter) or some shit mabey im being paranoid i am pretty baked... i would love to hear you opinion, and thanks for the congradualtions im glad someone like you responded to my question. With useful insightful info, some people on hear are very angry and just cruel..
