The topic "TRUTH" got me thinking

Someone said pot is totally natural unlike cig's where the companies put a massive amount of other chemicals to get you addicted. So I started thinking, if weed were legal, not just decriminalized, and you could go to a store and purchase a pack of Joints or Blunts, would the big companies start putting additives that would make weed as bad as tobacco? I just seems to me complete legalization may not be a good thing. I would rather give my money to my local dealer than some greedy company looking out for their own intrest. As is, it is possible to get some laced with a hardcore drug without your knowing, but honestly I prefer my chances with a dealer. The odds are I never will, but hand it over to American companies and it will prob become as big a problem as tobacco.

By the way, I am a tobacco smoker, and can't stand Philip Morris and the rest. Once my life settles down I bit, i plan on quiting, I don't like giving greedy assholes my money.

Uhhh correct me if I'm wrong but the addictive element of tobacco is nicotine which is naturally occuring in the tobacco..

JaggedEdge, I often have the same worry, but then I remember that you can still buy tobacco tht is relatively additive free, and so it stands to reason that if marijuana were legalized, then companies would step up to meet the demand for organic herb. Sure, it would probably cost a bit more, but it'd be worth it, and still probably cheaper than under prohibition.

I heard somewhere that they add all those other chemicals to reduce tar mostly.... It doesn't make much sense. Thats why I smoke rolling tobacco..

I often think that.. i also think they would sell it with less thc so you would have to smoke more of the product to get the effect in turn making the companies more money in return.

Personally I think they would have all the same varieties as now... They probably wouldn't reduce the potency.. I think they would just charge more for high quality. I doubt they would only offer low potency to make us smoke more and thus get more money when they could just charge more money anyway for better weed. I think the spread would be pretty much the same as now.

tobacco companies were putting additives in their products to help get you addicted faster which is why they were taken to court. and about weed being legal, i doubt companies would add a bunch of shit because people like their weed natural. so competition would ensure that prices stay low and quality be high.

i plan on growing my own when i move in with my 2 friends. and if it was legal, shit i'd grow plants everywhere. but some people are too retarded or lazy to grow so that's why companies would profit from them.
