can any tell me how carbon filters work, i have a new set up and totaly new to indoor growing,if you have carbon filter fans, do you need to bring in ventalation form outside as well? please help.

I'm no expert, but from what I've gathered carbon filters are basically just fans with a filter of carbon in the airflow. Theoretically, you could have a carbon filter completely enclosed in your grow room and it'd still be effective, albeit not as effective as having the air flow out of the room.
