do these trichomes look ready? also.. seed pods?

Hi, Hoping someone can help. i've been searcing and researching for a while - great site by the way

a bit of background: this is my first plant which I grew from a seed I found in some weed last year. the weed was mouldy but something good came from it :stoned: ..... Everythings been really cool so far. I planted in a big pot of compost, which I have been moving into the garden during the day and into a dark room at night. I used home made compost and have been giving her only organic bloom nutes and rainwater.

She looks like a typical sativa and has been flowering for about 10 weeks. There have been a few probs with mites and getting the amount of daylight right each day. It looks like there are seeds growing, can anyone confirm for me?

I want to harvest soon but I have only been flushing for 3 days.
I'm still waiting for my jewelers 30x glass from ebay but after I took this pic I noticed how much better I could see the trichs much better than with my bare eyes.. can you tell from this pic what state they are in? I'm after a nice uplifting high if it's still possible.

thanks for any help! And thanks for all the help i've found so far reading old posts

PICS: left one is small, shows the possible seeds. Right one is a closeup (BIG)

well brah....first off lots of trics and to me wit that view they still look pretty clear.... but u need that microscope to b for sure....instead of buyin one off ebay u should have jus went to Radio Shack and got a pocket microscope(i jus recently got one, and works great)...once u get urs check em out...if u believe that ur plant is a sativa/sativa dominant, then u want to harvest when mostly clear to cloudy to get the full sativa high.....and if u have only been flushin for 3 days u need to wait atleast a total of a wk, if not 2-3 jus to b safe......i jus finished my first and was told to get the pocket microscope from RS an was told all the stages of the trics from some one who has 20+ yrs experience...so it should b pretty accurate...o and to help wit the dryin process, stop watering 3-7 days prior to harvest...GL hope this helps

    Thanks dude

What's worrying me is the seed pods. I cut one of the fattest ones open (the one in the pic) and there was a tiny seed inside. It was still tiny and soft, but I'm worried how much longer til they are full size. Still, a couple of seeds in your stash doesn't hurt. Look where it's got me

Yeah, those dont just look like swollen false seed pods, looks like those pods are pregnant. You have a male in your garden and theres no need to go and look for it because your females are already pollinated...I take that back. Go and find and kill the male before it releases anything else .

Also dont open any more of those pods, just wait until it's time for harvest and take them out or let them hang with the bud. You should let those seeds mature so you can use them.

Thanks mate. I have only been growing this one plant, until I took some cuttings off it It's hardly a surprise that this girl is growing seeds when I think about how I got the seed that she came in. Plus the stress of me flowering her before nature would

Any ideas how long seeds take to fully develop? Is there likely to be a relation between seed maturity and trich maturity?

Seeds will continue to ripen a little more even after you take the plant down for drying.
So just take her down when the trichs are showing cloudy and the seeds will sort themselves out.

    Thanks.

One more question, if you don't mind
I have been flushing for about a week now. all the remaining fan leaves are going crispy and brown. Is that because there is no N left in the soil? I now think that I should have given her more nitrogen earlier on as the bigger fan leaves did this throughout the flowering period, so I was clipping them off.

Also, flushing has made my plant smell nasty. It just smells like a normal plant now but a week ago it was smelling nice!

Even some of the smaller trim leaves are crisping up, some of these have trichomes on. Should I give her some more nutes one last time, or just crop it now?

    Nope still waiting on ebay.

I'm in the UK and there aren't any radio shacks here anymore. I can't really afford to buy another one, lets hope this one turns up soon. We are in the 10th week of flowering so I might have to buy one if mine doesn't arrive next few days.

No nutes then, cheers If any of the buds start to go brown like that then it's got to be time for the chop, surely?
