THe government DOES lie daily!! If this were a Democracy, the POPULAR VOTE would count for something!! And Kerry is a BONESMAN TOO!!! Him AND Bush ADMITTED so on Meet the Press!!! "Uh, it's very secretive, I can't talk about it." Well noooooo shit!! IT'S A SECRET SOCIETY!!!! Vietnam vets got hate from their families cuz they came back Ten different kinds of FUCKED UP and ABUSIVE and ADDICTED to drugs!!! My father in law did SIX YEARS with Special Forces!!! He was a raging alchoholic who did sadistic shit to my wife, like hold a gun to her head and tell her she was an accident!!! YEAH, that's what throwing yellow men out of a helicopter does to ya!!!
But ya know what REALLLY pisses me off!!! This immigration rally on C-SPAN!!! In D.C.--isn't this the fifth year anniversary of September freakin 11th??? And they want to send a message to all the legislators who "want to treat undocumented immigrants as criminals!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! And there's ONE guy there, with a sign that says Legalize the Irish!!! I wonder if he's trying to be ironic, cuz ya know the irish slaves were treated waaayyy worse than african slaves--that's a fact. But I don't get it--why isn't this rally being held in MEXICO CITY!?!? I got nothing against Chicanos, Mexicans, Mestizo, whatever, the ones I've worked with were hard workers, very ILLEGAL, but hard workers nonetheless. I mean, they send all those dollares back home...and isn't it funny, how 12 million mexicans can get across the border, but nary a terrorist has slinked through with a dirty bomb or two?? Thank you very much for THAT, Mr. Vice President!!
I would have to typify all these folks at this rally as anti-mexican. Turning there backs on their own country. La Reconquista!!! NO MAS!!! NO MAS!!!

Let me recommend a book ya'll: Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins. Of course, the whole book is one big lie, so says the DoD's web site.

Oneironaut, I'm not going to waste your time quoting bits and snippets of what you've said in earlier postings, but I still regard you as harboring some fairly strong anti-American sentiments, even if you disagree with how I view what you said about opposing the United States, feeling like the flag is nothing more than meaningless fabric, etc. You know as well as anyone that you can feel however you want to feel, pro- or anti-anything. That's one of the marvelous freedoms that we enjoy.
I certainly don't like a lot of what's going on in our country. I hate this war. I distrust our leaders, although I don't wish for anyone's assassination. I oppose the growing divide between the rich and poor, and I'm deeply fearful for our environment. It's been my experience that most of those who wholeheartedly support our international policies and our current government aren't well-read, well-traveled or well-educated. (Around here, it's also been my experience that some of the most crazed opponents of our government, the conspiracists, sadly lack the same exposure.)
I'm fully aware that we're now an interdepenent global community and economy, that to succeed as a planet we must all succeed. But I still have pride in my nation of origin. A lot of this may be because I'm a female, and some of what I feel may be generational, too. I'm proud to have been born into a democracy and in a country where I've had opportunities, education, freedomes and equal treatment that I wouldn't have received elsewhere. I wouldn't have been able to have been a Fulbright scholar if I'd lived someplace else, for instance. And if I hadn't been lucky enough to live in this well-developed country with its advanced medical capabilities, I wouldn't even be alive today. I've been lucky enough to have traveled to 22 other countries so far in my lifetime, and that exposure has helped affirm this pride. I can't completely explain my feelings, and I'm fairly certain nothing I say will justify them in your eyes anyway, but I feel the pride nonetheless.\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

Anyone who wholeheartedly supports any government (current or not) has issues.

I repeat again "I do not hate America or it's people" but I do hate groups and individuals of any nationality that believe that might is right or that they are somehow the ideal that all others should be measured by. Arrogance is very unattractive.
I also hate all religions and politicians who think it's ok to ram their ideas down someone elses throat. Who gave anyone the right ?
America , Britain, France and all western countries should be forced to clean up their own backyard before they can go telling others how to live.
The wests power is in decline as the east rises, China will own everything before long as they already produce more than any other nation.
