    Anti American

Oh brother....the "if you don't love it get out" argument is so old and tired. That is a fascist trick. The fact is if you love your country then you want to change that which you see as being wrong. Ever hear of civil disobedience? I'm sure those who fought against slavery where considered anti-American too. I love America. I love being American. I hate politicans who make rules based on their morals....or worse, who only pretend to make decisions based on morals....when the real reason is greed and power.

So if I don't like that stuff then should I leave America? No, I should promote change because of my love for America.

You bash America at will. You see a topic about something that happens in America and you attack America. You make up things about history in order to cast America in a bad light. Without question you are anti American.

here is one example Under Current Events
    American Indians Confront Bikers
I looked in expecting to see posts like "it's a sacred ground to them, the bikers can go elsewhere or it's a free country and no one has a right to public land"

Instead here are your anti American posts
"IMO It was their country first before any of the so called Americans of today laid claim to something they had no right to."
You insult us with "so called Americans". Your post added nothing rational to the topic.

"The issue at question is the USA's treatment of modern Indians not ancient ones."
The issue was about bunch of bikers and you irrationally twist that into the USA's treatment of modern Indians. Guess what? Bikers dont represent America

Right after you make the statement "treatment of modern Indians not ancient ones."You say "The planned rally is just an ongoing example of the disrespect shown to the original inhabitants since settlers arrived there". So now it IS about ancient times. You're really out there.

The proof is in the pudding and you've got a bowl full.

Thanks. I hope to get into some good debates here. Funny tho, I wouldn't think there would be much of this type of debate here. Just goes to show the power of the bud....and its actually a good thing....it shows the movement we ALL care about spans ideological boundaries.

What I say I stand by and since the country you call home has existed for only 200 odd years the fact remains that it was stolen or coerced out of the hands of the ORIGINAL inhabitants.

If you believe that the treatment of the modern Indians has been anything but disrespectful then you really need to check your "facts".

Once again this is an example of selective reading to only choose to hear what you want and taking things out of context.

You see America to mean all Americans when you should realise (but don't want to) that by that I refer to the decision makers and since that is usualy the goverment or in the case of Sturgis the local goverment that is not all Americans.

I believe most people are just trying to get on with their lives with as little fuss as possible , however we all have a duty to speak out if we believe something to be wrong.

If all this makes me anti American then so be it .

I work with a couple of "neocons" whose sources of news are Newsmax and the Hal Lindsey Oracle. Because we disagree on some political issues such as why we attacked Iraq, I'm called a communist-America hater-Islamo Facist... (you get the picture). Whenever I make an attempt to debate them, I get thrown a bunch of one liners such as "Why dont you go join Al Queda?"
It would be funny except I hear these kinds of kooks on talk radio spouting the same kind of rubbish.

Just an American opinion,here... and I am sure there will be some insults thrown my way,but these are just my observations as someone who was born and raised here for 35 years.

I personally am embarrassed by our country at times.

We have tremendous opportunites and we don't take advantage of them.We crank out uneducated kids who can't read, can't find the U.S on a world map,who are lazy and would prefer to sit and play on a computer all day.Not that the computer doesn't have it's uses, but the whole "cyber-shorthand" thing just drives me insane.Type the whole word, for God's Sake and speak the King's English!

We are the most obese country [60% of adults are obese] in the world with a skyrocketing rate of diabetes in children because we are too lazy to make balanced meals [I'm a chef,so cut me some slack on the food thing,ok?].We advertise to appeal to children to make future fat junkies out of them and parents give in to whining brats wanting McDonald's so they can just shut them up instead of raise them correctly.A study showed even kids as young as 2 could recognize the logos of fast food and soda companies. That's sad.

We don't even discipline our kids because we don't want to shatter their developing egos and then shove pills down their throats because they run wild.

Our President makes the entire country look like a bunch of backwards-assed rednecks. The man can barely get through a speech without some major grammatical screw-up that he plays off as being all down-home and Texas. It's pathetic.Don't even get me started on his handling of the war.Let the Shiites and Sunnis duke it out amongst themselves as they have for years..get us out there!

We are addicted to celebrity.I could care less about Brangelina,Tom Cruise,etc...but that crap even hits the national news at 6 pm and CNN and MSNBC.

Reality television..oh my god.Shoot me now, because it's just staged crap. But as Americans,we love to see someone get ripped to shreds and someone "win" because we text message our opinion in and it makes us feel "important".People won't vote for an elected official, but they are all over some American Idol bullshit!

We want more security after 9/11 and then whine because it takes too long at the airport.Take a look at other countries and the daily terrorism they go through and it makes 9/11 seem rather insignificant.Hell, the Civil War made 9/11 seem insignificant, and we did that to EACH OTHER!

We bitch about illegal aliens, but feel the work they do is "beneath" us.We should be grateful WE don't have to go to another country and work for nothing because there is NO WORK in our own.

    alright..enough!

Nice post. I agree with everything except the last two bits. I feel where you're coming from though.

    3) I oppose the concept of nationality and regard humanity as a single human race, fundamentally undivided by the artificial lines that states have drawn on the map.

I don't feel there should be a thing called the United States of America, but that doesn't mean I oppose the 300 million inhabitants of this artificial land division, or the land itself; just the tiny elite in charge who tell everybody else what to do. I'd celebrate if the president were assassinated, I'd burn an American flag in a second, and I'd love to see the time when the United States is nothing more than an interesting chapter in history books, but the minute you attack the innocent Americans themselves (or members of any nationality for that matter) you become my enemy.

Patriotism is stupid. Being proud of having been born in America makes just as much sense as being proud of having been born white.
I think this is a narrow minded point of view, but you ARE entitled to your opinion, which is one of the things I love about America. What I HATE about this country or ANY country or state are the bureaucrats/hypocrites in power and the sheeple who vote'em in power despite their corruption like Ted (hiccup) Kennedy or Ray Nagin! I'd prefer someone like Gatewood Galbraith http://www.gatewood.com/speech.html or Chris Conrad www.chrisconrad.com These guys are more moderate and could make America a better country in MY opinion. And no patriotism is NOT stupid if you have the RIGHT values!
