Ever made a bong with a potery wheel?

I took a ceramics calss and suspect I will be making lots of "vases"

The first words out of the teachers mouth was "we do not make bongs or pipes in this class."

My teacher I suspect is a stoner.

Any way my plan is to make the "vase" with two holes that are thinner then the rest of the thing so I cna pop them out after the "vase" is fired.

I really hope this works, becasue toking off a bong you made in a high school potery class will be classic.

    ...
This is what highschool ceramics is for.
Almost everyone in my ceramics class was a stoner.
All ceramics teachers have to say that, becuase it's such a recognized stoner class.
Sadly I was too focused on the girl next to me, and other things in my life, to ever accomplish ANYTHING in that class... Too bad to. There were at least 200 "vases" fired in that class.

Ever made a bong with a potery wheel?

I took ceremics my sophomore year. It was at the begining of the day when I still had my high. I'd eat a bagel and throw clay at the cutie next to me. Turns out he's an e-head :-D I think my teacher really thought I was like, mentally retarded. But anyway, the very first thing my teacher said was "We will NOT be making paraphanelia in this class" and of course I had to question her... "does that include ashtrays?" ..her response "yes".. "what about bongs?" her response.."finish your bagel". Haha or something along those lines. I think it's like, in ceremic teacher's handbooks or something.

I just finished a pottery class that I've been in for the last three months, and frankly, a bong is a pretty advanced project, at least making one entirely on a wheel would be. I'm good with my hands and am still rough, even after three months, on basic easy stuff like bowls and plain vases. I just think someone would have to be fairly skilled to make a bong, unless you just made a hole in a vase and then inserted the bowl and stem from someplace else.

That's basically all there is too it. And unless you're trying to be absolutely perfect, using a wheel and creating something to smoke out of isn't so hard.

the wheel is hard. it doesnt look hard, but its really fucking hard. i was in ceramics for 3 years and took the ap course for it my senior year. i made one bong and it was so obvious as to what it was i didnt think i would get away with it. it had a built in bowl and everything and i glazed it this really pretty red and then after i used it once my exboy friends dad found it and smashed it. i spent like a month working on it. it was sad

I could be wrong here, but aren't ceramics known to hold heat? A bong sounds like a neat idea, but wouldn't it get hot and hold that heat? Just wondering. Nevermind my dumbassness if it's a stupid question.
