That is a good price for sure. I have several of that same model and I recommend it to others. Don't forget to get the calibration solution you will need them all on hand.

    Very good choice.

Yeah the calibration solutions(4.01,7.01,10.1) are included FREE through this company. Do you feel this is a great deal and perfect for a newbie to hydro?

You should have the 4.01, 7.01 and then one for the TDS calibration 1413uS/cm. You can use the 4.01 as storage solution.

There is no need for the 10.01 solution the unit is designed to work with the 2 point set 4.01 & 7.01 for the Ph calibration.

Yes it is a very good price for that unit.

all my meters are hanna, ive used them for yrs, i have an EC meter of theres for over two yrs and still good, youll need to buy a 250 ml bottle of both buffers PH and another for the EC , check them at leat once a week, and everytime they recieve a knock! i have noticed the price dropping over the last two yrs or so. the cheaoest model used to cost 120 euros !, the PH meter electrodes always go quicker so i like the spare to go with it ! very good choice, although i do prefere to keep my EC and PH meters seperate for practical reasons[ if one breacks i still have the other parameter to use! and dont loose all control]

welcome to the world of endless possibilities,,, hydroponics!

I saw one of those exact models on ebay for $100US. I couldn't afford it and had to settle for just a ph meter and a in/out thermometer, but I wanted it so bad I could practically taste it.

    Zan,

I bought the Hanna HI 991404 unit got it for 120 bones brand new. What do you think about this meter http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280058119425

It came with the 4.01 and 7.01 and the 1413 solutions. What do you mean using the 4.01 as a storage solution and what do you mean when you say the unit is designed to work with the 2 point set 4.01 & 7.01 for the Ph calibration. Sorry nube here.

One more thing both the probes on the unit are designed in line if you want to do it that way. This seems a lot more sturdy to do it this way than just mounting the meter to where the probes are just dandling. That proposes a design problem with my res as far as mounting the meter. However if I had the probes in line that just seems more practical but I dont know of any fittings to accomodate both probes and an outlet to distribute my nutes to the irrigation system. Any ideas.

    Thanks bro

Hey Weed4Life, thanks for the heads up on that good deal - at least $35 cheaper than anywhere else that I could find. Mine arrived today.
