Question about my ban and my thread
A few days ago i had a three day ban for reasons Unknown to me. The message I got was "come back with a little better attitude" - as the reason for the ban.
This reason was very vague and too general for me to understand why I was banned. I sent an email to a moderator requesting more detailed information about my ban and the reasoning, but no response.
The thread was called "Update of forum guidelines" or something similiar.
The thread asked for an update of the guidelines to prevent blindsided bans, much like the one that happened to me.
To my knowledge I did not break any of the guidelines with my thread, or in any other thread.
This is the best method I can think of for getting answers on this because how am I supposed to know what gets me banned, when the guidelines won't tell me?
I was banned, I don't know why.
Again, I ask for an update of the forum guidelines so that people fully understand what is allowed to be talked about, and what isn't. This isn't meant as an attack on moderators (even if some feel may feel that way), it is an honest request to avoid future problems.
If I was banned and my thread nuked because I said something wrong, please let know what it was.
How am I supposed to improve on my behaviour when I don't know what I did wrong?
Saying "come back with a little better attitude" does nothing to constructively improve the situation.

Question about my ban and my thread
Does this kind of thing happen here often ?
Where do I find the rules ? When I signed up it even said you cant talk about sexual nature things but you have a sex forum. Where are the real rules ?

Question about my ban and my thread
When you start to question why every thread that we nuke is gone we get a bit tired of having to explain it. General guidelines are posted but common sense states other things.......like the fact this is NOT a weapons site. NOT to wise to be speaking of pot and modifying guns in the same forum. THIS is one of the threads you couldn't understand why it disappeared.
You want to "improve on your behaviour", quit riding our butts about threads being nuked that YOU didn't even start.
Have a good one!

As far as the sexual content...we would appreciate it if topics were kept to the proper areas. We don't allow nude pics, child abuse.....just use common horse sense and you'll be VERY cool. Oh ya, no animal stuff either....since I mentioned the horse. LOL
Have a good one and welcome!

Why not just say in the forum guidelines, "No violence, gangster or gun talk allowed"? What is common sense to one person isn't common sense to another. While some people may not want talk about guns or violence on their website (which is fine, I don't question your preferences), this kind of topic may be perfectly fine to another person, who does not realize that it isn't ok here, making common sense, vague to understand.
All I was saying with my post is that having it in the guidelines makes it clear to people who don't share the same perception of "common sense" as you do perhaps.
I apologize if you percieved a request to update the guidlines as "riding your butt" because that was not the purpose behind the post. I really thought I was giving honest feedback and suggestions in the feedback and suggestions forum. Now I feel as though I have to tip toe around so I don't strike Mod's nerve if I want to give feedback or make a suggestion.
I realize I did not start the gun thread, you didn't have to point that out to me. My request was made to prevent future problems, perhaps where I make a topic or say something a Mod doesn't like, and I get banned or my thread nuked and I don't know why, because it isn't in the guidelines, and my common sense tells me it's ok to talk about whatever subject it is, when I don't realize a Mod's common sense doesn't coinside with mine. (Because to me, there is nothing wrong with talking about any subjects, I am a free speech kinda guy, so my common sense says "no holds barred")
Anyways thanks for clearing that up Psycho. All I ask is if I get banned again for whatever reason, please state the reason directly so I know not to do whatever it is I did again. For eample, this time it could have read "Don't ride our butts about nuking threads", that would have made it a little bit more clear about what I did wrong, as opposed to "come back with a better attitude", which left me with questions, instead of answers about my wrongdoing.
Just to be clear, this post is feedback and suggestions oriented, I am not trying to annoy or criticize any Mod's. Thanks for your time.

Question about my ban and my thread
This site is already on the fringe...anything gun related is obviously bad in my book. And I am not anti-gun either.

I felt ignored, especialy seeing as how my email was constructed tactfully and respectfully, yet apparently still didn't deserve a reply.
I wouldn't bother to go through so much trouble with these emails and messages if I didn't feel I had a valid point.
I was getting the feeling that I was banned, not for breaking any rules, or stepping out of line, or doing something that could be considered "bad for the site", but because I hit on the emotions of a single mod, or multiple mods for questioning the justifications for actions I felt were derived not in the interest of the forums, but for emotional/personal (perhaps pride) reasons, and I felt this was unfair, thus the point in going through all of this trouble in the first place.
(If I told someone to fuck off (flamed), or mentioned m.o.m., or tried to sell or promote products, or was racist, or threatened anyone, and I got banned for it, you wouldn't have heard a peep from me. This just feels like back in the dirty thirties when people questioned the actions of police officers and they got "attitude adjustments" for talking back. I use that as my example because of the ban message that read "come back with a better attitude", when I honestly felt as though my attitude was in check, and my post was respectfully written with tact and with good intention.)
I am absolutely empathetic, and agree with your whole statement hunny, and thank you for your response. I totaly agree with banning anything against the rules, my concern was with things not posted in the rules only.

For example: To be perfectly honest, I did not assume that talk about guns being a forbidden subject would be common sense. I don't see why it isn't allowed. Perhaps other people's common sense tells them it shouldn't be allowed, while others still (such as myself), do not share that perception. See where using the reason of "common sense" becomes flawed due to vagueness?
Again, saying "because it doesn't belong on a pot forum" could be applied to over half of the topics in the lounge, so obviously something not being related to pot isn't a viable reason to nuke it, because if that were the case, anything not pot related would be nuked, which doesn't happen.
