    New Grow Room - - - - - NEED ALL ADVICE I CAN GET!!!!

    Howdy.

ok my friend just bought a house. he plans on growing but needs ideas

here is what we DO KNOW:

he wants to grow Hydroponicly so he goin with DWC in 5gal buckets.
not sure of grow space yet.
wants to yeild between 5-6 pounds a month.
perfers to only spend between $500-$600 for grow room.

    questions -

how many plants will he need to grow?
what will it take to yeild 5-6 pounds a month MINIMUM?
can $500-$600 for the grow room be enough to accoplish what he wants? or how much do you think it will take???

thx more questions will probably come up once we figure out the space he chooses

So you basically want 10-12 pounds every 60 days. That's around 5000 grams, so you're going to need five 1000 watt lights, with air-cooled hoods or cooltubes, a fan strong enough to cool all of them, more fans for room ventilation, probably some air conditioning, enough electrical circuits with enough amperage to handle that kind of load, nutrients, a tester for ph and ppm, good genetics. Oh, and enough growing experience to hit the 1 gram/watt 'holy grail'. If you don't have that, then add more 1000 watt lights, probably 3 or 4 more.

You'll also need a veg room, and probably a germination area, and lighting and cooling for that.

You won't even come close for $500-$600. Multiply that amount by 10 and you'd maybe have enough, assuming someone is handy with tools and stuff and can do all the labor. There's no really cheap way to start pulling 5-6 pounds a month. If there were, everyone would do it, and then it wouldn't be worth doing.

OK so just figure out how much more quality bud is than crap bud, divide the cost for quality bud by the cost for crap bud, get the answer, then divide six pounds by this number and you should get the number of pounds he needs to make the same amount of money. He may only need to grow one or two pounds per month, although I have no idea how much bud goes for.

Ok re mesure the idea. we figure half his ppl will go find cheaper bud the other will buy so thats half the product.

ok now what would it take to grow harvest cure and sell 3-4 pounds a month. NOT using HPS more along the line of T5 Tubs with Hydro. and possable coast month for all of this

600 watt mh for veg 1000 watt hps for flower.veg 4 weeks flower 8.yield 1 to 2 pounds.that is every 3 months.you want 3 pounds every month?you need about 3000 watts mh for veg and about 5000 hps for flower and then you will still only get 4 to 6 pounds every 2 months.and if you are running that many lights i hope noone is living there because it is gonna cost your 500-600$every month in power bills alone.sorry if i killed your dream it just isnt that easy.unless you grow outside.if you sell 3 lbs a month then try to grow 50 lbs outside next year.that will take 200 to300 female clones that will finish on time.dry cure store and sell it all year.much cheaper much easier.

i'm not going to say this is impossible. but it is impractical. You are going to have a very hard time producing large amounts of bud without using HPS. Also HPS is the most efficient light watts for lumens. So it would cost you more in power that way.

As well I have 1 T5 ballast it has 4 bulbs (100Watt total) I use it for seedlings/clones it put me back 140 (probably too much). The point is that I got my 400Watt HPS for 150 ish so your going to be spending more per watt on the equipment.

You would have a better chance going with big ass CFLâ??s like 125 Watt and higher. They are much smaller( than t5â??s) so you can cram more of them in a space.

He doesnâ??t need to produce all the weed he sells.

    5-6 POUNDS A MONTH! WTF!

You obviously do not comprehend how much MJ you want to grow in such a short time.

    5lbs-6lbsx 454grams=2270-2724grams per month.

You have to realise that some plants take 1.5-2.5 months just to flower! Unless you have a real full-scale operation going on, I SERIOUSLY doubt that you will be able to achieve such a goal.

And you're not planning on using HPS in here? Listen, I'm not discouraging your idea, well I kinda am, but, your dream is a bit too much.

Besides, do you know what kind of power bill you would have? It woudn't take long for the cops to come knocking on the door with 5-8-1000watt hps... do you know how much energy that eats?

    Cheers
