Good afternoon all.

I have read the site extensively and just am looking for any opinion on my particular situation.Everyone's metabolism is different and I'm curious as to what has worked for others.
I am 6 ft,130 lbs [female;sorry about the "King" instead of "Queen" in the screen name;Queen Crimson isn't the band!] with a very high metabolism and have been clean for 16 days.My last consumption was minimal [half a 1/4 in 7 days],but have smoked for many years.I took a home test yesterday without any detox drink and it was a clear positive,and that was with drinking large amounts of water, and limiting caffeine,sugar and fat for 5 days.A rather stupid move,as it just put me in slight panic mode...
About 5 years ago,I used a detox drink which worked quite well for me,and I was only 5 days clean on that one.I tested myself before I went to the lab and had no problems.
I know the opinion on detox drinks [and know they do not mask,but hold the metabolites],but for me it is easier to take the massive doses of B vitamins [and the creatine] in that liquid form because sometimes pills don't sit too well on my stomach.I will also be taking a few of the orange-coated aspirin and a couple of multi-vitamins prior to alter the color.Fortunately,I have 24 hours to take the test at a 24 hour lab at any time I choose,so I can put this off a little while longer.I signed the offer an hour and a half ago,so I have some leeway.
My question is {to anyone who has gone the drink route},have they noticed the new advice given such as prior to the test no smoking cigarrettes,no fried foods,no sugar or caffeine? The cigarette thing is what I'll have a problem with...damn nicotine junkie! It wasn't like that when I tested 5 years ago.I'm sure labs are keeping up with the products that are out there and they change accordingly.
honest advice only,please...do not waste time insulting me or being nasty,as I have seen on a couple of posts.

Well,the drinks may not work for some,but do for me.Took the crap,drank 48 oz of water,aspirin and some B complex just for laughs and got the glorious two STRONG lines with the at-home test.Went to the lab immediately and gave my sample.
what's sad is I haven't had a craving for pot at all...wish Winstons were that easy to walk away from!

For curiosity, What at-home test did you use? I think the ones I bought were called "First Check" from CVS. All my home tests came out very faint.

BTW, King Crimson is just about the only progressive rock band from the 70's that still makes good music today

I just got the test from Walgreen's...it would be the same for CVS or any other drug store.They are still the same kind they use at the diagnostic labs for the screening.Even the stick/dip tests you can get at a head shop are basically the same,but cheaper.
As long as the screen checks out,they don't bother with further testing..that costs too much money,especially for a pre-employment test.And remember: no matter how faint the line,it's still a negative.I just felt better that it was a strong line!
What annoys the hell out of me with testing [as I'm sure it does for all on the board] is that we just smoke pot...show me someone who beat the shit out of his wife or kids because he was too stoned.Every major sporting event,domestic violence cases go up because people are drunk and pissed because their team didn't win.Ask any cop.
Or when a team wins a major championship,it's the drunk idiots who are tearing apart their city in a celebratory riot [and costing tax payers a lot of money];the stoned ones are at home just minding their business...
I could have spent my weekend smoking crack,meth or some other hard drug and it'll clear out within days [no way in hell I'd touch any of those,by the way!],but something "simple" and natural unfortunately stays in the system for a longer period of time...and we get lumped in the same category because it's a controlled substance.
I've seen alcohol screw up more lives than pot by a long shot...it's legal,widely-available and affordable.I was raised by an alcoholic and it was not a pretty way to grow up and I have a tremendous aversion to it and can't stand being around people who are drunk.

Regarding King Crimson: saw them twice and that was the best show [s] I have seen [besides X and Bob Mould] in recent years.3 hours minimum they were on stage and it was stunning.
The music today is just tedious and boring..very few new bands have come out that are even worth listening to!

Well, the deed is done for me...I just got back for a lab, they do send them out to an MD to be read. The "nurse" (not sure if she actually was or has to be) was really cool and I asked her questions like, "what drugs do you test for?", and "how long do the results take?". I even mentioned (acting dumb), "if I was bad when I was young, is there a problem?"...she said, who wasn't bad! I also mentioned that you can get these tests at a drug store and she mentioned that they are VERY (she stressed VERY) sensitive. So, I hope that my only concern is the fact that I am taking Alprazolam (Xanax), but someone would call me if they found anything that they would need to verify with my doctor. She also confirmed that they do only test for the legendary 5 drugs (marijuana, coke, opiates...and the rest I forget).

Long winded as well...I've seen King Crimson a few times...The BEST show was I think Lallapalooza years ago, it was outside of HersheyPark, we were right out front, Tony Levin and I made eye contact many times, probably because my mouth was open in utter amazement. I also saw Projeckt 2 in Philly...some complete asshole took a photo (which you may already know, is not specifically liked by Mr. Fripp), they left, and never came back for an encore. I do have to say that there are some really good bands out there you really should invest in...and no, you won't usually hear them on the radio, and no, they are most certainly not K.C. There is only one!!!

I hear you on being stunned at a show! First time I saw Adrian Belew up there,I finally got to SEE how he made those sounds and it was amazing.
At the X show,I was 5 feet from Billy Zoom and he smiled and winked at me and I acted like I was about 17.My husband thought it was hysterical.
Yes,there are a few good bands out there recently [5 to 10 years],but not a whole lot to hold my interest.I have a much heavier taste in music than most women [I grew up on Husker Du,Sonic Youth,Bad Brains,The Pixies..etc] and WolfMother is pretty good.I like the fact that I can hear the Zeppelin and some White Stripes influence in them.

About your test: not sure if Xanax would show or not...I took one of the full-screen tests before I went [Walgreen's was out of the plain THC tests...go figure!] and passed with flying colors,so I'm confident,but of course will not totally relax till The Dream Job calls [luxury hotel;I am a chef and we all smoke in this profession!] and won't smoke until I am in the door.

Crimson King, question...The full-screen test you took, were all the lines similar in lightness/darkness, or were some lighter than others? I have seen a few posts here that specifically MJ may tend to show a lighter line than other tests...But I took the THC/COC test, and they were exactly the same shade!

Personally, not a huge heavy side of rock, never been a Zep fan (I'm like the only one)...I grew up with Classical and Opera, so I was into ELP, Yes, Floyd. Current bands that I can't get enough of... Midlake, Band of Horses, Radiohead (and Thom Yorke solo stuff), Devotchka, Belle & Sebastian, Jeff Buckley, Modest Mouse, and I have to admitt, a Flaming Lips fan as well...but I love thier older stuff more for other reasons...was a lot more raw and crazy. As far as KC, Larks Tongue and Aspic is one of the best albums ever made!!

All the lines were very clear and definate...since it was numbered 1-5, I could not tell what number was for what drug,but number 2 was a hair lighter than the rest [I'm guessing that was the THC line,since I don't do any of the other four!],but it was still very clear and eased my worries considerably!

Music: I also grew up on classical.My FIRST albums ever bought were Walter Carlos's [now Wendy!] "Switched On Bach" , Glenn Gould's "Goldberg Variations" and the soundtrack to "A Clockwork Orange".
I was an odd kid,needless to say...

Fave Crimson: Discipline.I had the cover tattooed on my right bicep about 12 years ago.

Good...that does make me feel better, although all my test lines were much darker than the THC lines. I think the manufacturing may also play a part in it, It's not like they are building processors or anything, lots of room for error and variation.

Discipline is quite good, of the 80's ish Belew era, It would be a tie between Discipline and Three of a Perfect Pair
