Haven't listened to any punk/metal for over 3 years now. I find that underground beats almost always flow so well with the lyrical abilities some of those MC's possess. It's pure genius and art at it's best!
Yeah man, blast the atmos. Well, except sevens travels. No atmosphere fan likes sevens travels.

It's funny, most people who hate modern hip hop like underground. But then again, underground is so diverse. It's all about what you like.

Oh, and dryst, underground hip hop is an entire different type of hip hop. It focuses more on intelligent lyrics and groundbreaking beats, usually with a jazzy feel to them. If you're looking for some good underground artists, the most popular are atmosphere, murs (both of which made an album called felt), immortal technique, MF Doom, etc. If you're looking for some REAL underground, look for blockhead (producer, makes beats) ADeeM, or josh martinez.

i agree- hip hop isnt what it used to be, but then again, there isnt much music nowadays that is. anything on mtv or on any countdown is mindless, no-talent-required so-called music. Why are bands like fall out boy and panic! at the disco popular? it makes no sense, they just play power chords to a whinny vocalist. thats not right! what happened to music being about the music instead of this trash? im sorry im off topic, but i figured itd be better to do this instead of starting a new thread on pretty much the same thing.

I back UK Hip Hop to the end, Sway is the best rapper ive heard in a long, long time.

As for the US im as always impressed by The Game for a mainstream rapper.

Nobody likes sevens travels. Can't you see how much fun we're having is alright, but I dig the old atmosphere, like overcast. Ant's beats are all starting to sound the same. Slug's getting too popular, I don't like it.

So since you're a girl do you listen to aesop and sage francis? I just ask because every underground girl listens to aesop and sage francis.

    Oh, and you like ADeeM?

I am IN LOVE with Slug, but sadly I agree, I'll always adore him tho lol. I listen to a bunch of sage francis, not so much aesop.

I've never heard of ADeeM, do you reccomend 'em?

    P.S

This thread makes me wonder if any of you guys are into the "underground" poetry-slam scene?
