    What should I do????

I was fired from a new job, after a week of working due to a positive drug test. My results were
50 ng/ml in the initial test and
    15 ng/ml on the GC/MS confirm test.
The company has said I can file an appeal. I have to do this in writing. My question is what otc medications can cause false positives for marjuaina? I took another test the day I was fired (at my OWN expense) and the results were negative. This was approx 7 days after the first test.
I've been told that a medical review officer will review my case along with the Human resources director for a final determination. But the company told me that they dont offer re-testing (which is why I paid for the 2nd test myself.)

What should I say in the appeal letter to strenghten my case? Please help, ASAP, I need my job back!!!

i dont want to spread false information so im gonna tell you that I read this somewhere else on the net. it may not be accurate. i heard that Ibuprofen (spelling?) used to be an excuse you could use but not sure if they're going for that anymore. I also know that you're supposed to notify your employer of any medications you may be on before the test. I guess so you cant come back and say you were taking medication which is why you tested positive.

check this site for more info on testing. they mention the UK several times, so not too sure how relevant this is for US residents

Yes, large amount of Motrin can cause a false Positive with a (Immunoassay)dip "screen" at 50 mg/mL, I failed after taking 1600 mg. It was sent to a lab where the GC/MS showed negative. so it's a yes/no question.
