    CURSED!!

    DAMNIT!!

Every time I start a plant it starts off great. I sucessfully germinate it and as soon as the vegetative state hits week 2 then everything goes to shit, and I mean SHIT!

Ok here is my situation. I am growing hydroponics. I use the basic General Hydroponics line of nutrients, Grodan woolrock, and a standing bubbler setup in a 3 gallon bucket. I have 4 45 watt compact flourecent bulbs that emit 2600 lumens each. The Ph is stable at about 6.1. I have air circulating in the room.

I can get past the germination phase. However once I am past the germination phase I can't do anything. This has happened to me over 7 times in a row and I can't get a good diagnosis.

This is what my most recent failure looked like. Other times it has looked like other deficiencies.

I have the Indoor Bible by Jorge Cervantes. I have been reading and reading and reading and I can't find anything that I am doing wrong. My setup seems decent and everything seems to be going great.

This most recent failure happened like this: I come home from work I go look in my grow room. My plant is in the second week of the vegetation phase with about a total of 4 full grown leaves, but it has these brown spots developing on the inside part of the leaves. I immediately run and changed out my hydroponic solution adding more nutrients to compensate for the deficiency. I have everything all done and setup. I leave for school and I AM NOT KIDDING YOU, 2 hours late I came back home and looked at my plant again. IT WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY YELLOW!! WITHIN TWO HOURS!!! WHAT THE F*-**!!!

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I just cursed at growing?!?!? What is the big deal here???? I have grown other kinds of plants and I have never ever had this problem!

Should I just go back to soil growing or something? What should I do?!?!

    CURSED!!

    Hello,

I have not read anything by Jorge Cervantes, but a lot of people who help me out say to not follow his books. He is misleading. I believe those who help me, but would not rule out that it is possible that they are just giving their opinion.

I can not get the link that you put up to work.

As far as the plants. It sounds to me that you are over ferting them. A plant so young does not need alot of nutes. Take whatever amounts you are using and cut them down to 1/2 or 1/4 strength.

Next time you see a plant start to go south, change out the water like you did before, but only replace it with pH balanced water.

Are you using enough aeration in the water. The presence of oxygen in the water is vital.

    I hope this helps.

    Peace

Getting some real growing light certainly wouldn't hurt. Not only are they more efficient but they are also better for the plants. HPS or MH; either one would be great. Perhaps an enhanced spectrum would be best for your situation.

Also might I ask how many plants you have? You might not have enough light.
