they are ok on the window for the first few weeks, but after they become plants rather than seedlings, you notice slow growth and sparse leaves.

your already growing them, you should totally carry on for the experience, thats how i started.
no experience is bad experience.

youll be able to get a feel for how they react do various things like watering and light changes.

just dont expect to gain anything apart from knowledge, which is always good.
