Well, I too know that THC is not water soluable, but I have made tea before using just hot water and schwag in a tea bag and microwaved it and soaked it til the water turned green/yellow. I didn't get high per se, but it definitely does produce a nice mellowing somewhat narcotic effect. I usually end up going to sleep not long after drinking some. It tastes really really good sweetened with some honey too, drink it warm.

My reasoning is that although THC isn't water soluable, it also is not the only psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Since water is a polar solvent and thc is only soluable by non-polar solvents (ie: oils, alcohols), maybe the other active elements are soluable in water, like CBD or whatever that chemical is. Also, I think that since the water gets extremely hot, maybe some of the thc comes out in the water anyway, kinda like when you cook meat the grease comes out. I think that because usually there is an oily like substance floating on the top of the tea if you look at it in the light. Dunno, just some thoughts.

Don't knock the water only tea til you try it, it tastes great and you definitely feel something, but it's not the same "high".
