well i usually smoke about twice a day whenever i have bud, and i love it. but lately, people have been getting ripped off, and my town is really dry, and it sucks a lot. i just started football a couple weeks ago, and my lungs were pretty shot from smoking so much. i decided to quit and focus on football/grades for a while. my plan is to not buy anything for myself until the season is over in november, right at thanksgiving. but i WILL smoke if someone offers some (i will still pay though, im just not going out of my way to buy). also, i plan on buying a nice roor or other bong if, in november, if i have a 3.7gpa or better...i love smoking and this is going to suck...has anyone done anything similar before?

Yeah man. That's something sad that always has to be confronted in a stoner's life. Everyone once in a while we all gotta take a break for whatever reason. It's worth it though man, especially once it's over.

That first toke of freedom after a dry phase is great...

Good luck in school man, I'm doing something similiar. It will be tough but it will be worth it.

Looks like I'm aboard the same boat as you guys. Although it's not really that dry in my area, I need to save as much money as possible. Which might make abstaining from buying it that much harder. I've got soccer until the end of October, and I can't work during that time, plus I have to get a new place, and I'd rather have my own house than smoke. PLUS I can start growing my own and not have to worry about flakey dealers and the whole sha-bang-a-bang.

Sadly, for some reason, I'm looking forward to an extended period of sobriety. ~

People do this stuff all the time, the whole "I'm going to quit untill my grades are up and save my money for awhile" thing is very cliche.

i dont give a shit about the money, i didnt even mention it.

i am planning on going to med-school to become a doctor when I am older, so high grades are a must, and im sorry but that is much more of a priority over smoking bud

and i apologize it's so cliche, but its what i want to do and those are the reasons why. thanks for caring though:thumbsup:

Quitting isnt that bad, ive smoked twice in the past 2-3 months, i hardly think about gettin stoned anymore. In my opinion, smoking every 2-3 weeks is so much better. You get low tolerance, so when you do get high it is fuckin rad, you save money, and you can concentrate on other aspects of yor life. That is just my opinion :thumbsup:
