The hardest thing ive ever had to do.

i smoked 1 to 2 packs a day for 3 years. i quit cold turkey about 3 mos ago. It took me moving 2000 miles away from home and away from all of my frieds who smoke(not for that reason tho). Its 1000x's easier to do if you arent around it all the time. u kind of have to plan ur day around it if at all possible. If u can make it through the first 1 or 2 weeks its easy after that. i will say though i had some fuckign headaches in the first 2 weeks.

Keep yourself busy. The more time you spend thinking, the more it will screw with your head.

rationalizations are the hardest part. You'll come up with all these weak reasons, which seem perfectly logical, why now is not a good time to quit and you might as well have one. My favorite was that I dont want to be irritable and nasty with people during school so i'll wait for a break.

Unless you truely desire nothing more that to give it up and never go back then you'll probably end up smoking again

good job, i think the only way to successfully quit is to really want to, which i don't, at the moment

Cold turkey, dude... the first week or so is the hardest, and then it gets easier and easier. I found myself not even thinking about it after awhile. And I agree, it's a lot easier to quit when you're not around other smokers all the time... good luck!
