What are the chances?
Ok...I don't smoke very often. Maybe once a month. Something like that. I've probably only smoked 3 times since July 1st. I just got a new job and I had to sign a paper saying I'd submit to random drug testing.
I know I'd pass right now as I haven't smoked since August 7th. But my big question is...how likely do you think it is that I'll be randomly tested? You would think they'd only do it if they had reason to suspect...that's sort of what I was lead to believe. And I have to be one of the most unlikely suspects.
Also...if I showed up at work and they were like ***** you have a drug test today. The location for drug tests is offsite...so I'd probably have time to do something...but what could I do that would change it quickly?
I would think that since I smoke so infrequently...and not large quantities at that, that it doesn't stay in my system too long. I'm just wondering if this means I should quit all together. I really hope not because that once or twice a week feels like the only time I let myself relax.soccergal Reviewed by soccergal on . What are the chances? Ok...I don't smoke very often. i think you'd be ok to smoke.. there aren't many jobsites that REALLY want to waste their time and money drug testing their employees when they could be doing actual WORK... in many cases, your employer would even give you 24 hours to take care of it, and that's plenty of time to start dilluting (for an infrequent smoker like yourself) or to grab some quick fix 4.0...
of course, it's a decision that is ultimately up to you.. just saying that if it were me, i wouldn't let random drug testing deter me from doing something that i love to do.
respect.

Depending on the company I suppose. I believe if your not a chronic smoker and in good shape, don't let randoms scare you. The company i worked for said they did randoms, and I was there for 5 years and never gotten one. I usually asked co-workers about it and they were like, if you walking into walls or falling asleep at ya desk (or any weird suspicious activities), then you may get red-dotted to do a random drug test.
Another instance that happen was that one day they found someone pipe in the men bathroom, so they tried to give all the men random drug tests. They couldn't because 1. it was a public bathroom, anyone can use it. 2. Against Union contract.
