    Ticket Fun!

Isn't speed such a rush? I love speeding.. I'm always careful while driving but I do enjoy pushing my car to its limits once in a while.
Anyways, I got a ticket.. went to driving school to get the price to go down a little bit on it ($300 something down to $143) as well as clearing up my records ya know.
I then sent a check to court along with my driving school certificate and it was already a pain to do that.

Now a few days later I get a call from this collection agency saying that I owe them $430 !! Obviously a huge "WTF" comes to mind and the need to clarify this situation arises. I go to court, tell them what had happened, get sent to the court room, talk to the judge about it and all this unnesscesary stressful shit happens. I then get it all cleared and pay the $143 on the spot.

Again a little later this agency calls me back telling me I still owe them that $430, so I fax them proofs of everything I HAD to do in order to avoid this bullshit deal. All cleared again.

Last night a different guy fromt he same agency calls me, saying the same thing! Except this guy won't listen to anything I say and keeps repeating the words: "Sorry sir you owe us $430, can you pay now?" - "You may lose your liscence", blah blah. WTF ?!

I'm going to court right now to fix it up AGAIN...

Any ticket stories to share for when I get back?

Well seems like collection agencies and court need to communicate a little better. The court "forgot" to let them know, hence all the BS.
    All cleared now.

Well I'm actually happy to see nobody's got ticket problems here

I don't drive, not because I'm not old enough, but because I chose not to. I've never learned either..no permit, no car. I perfer to walk only because cars bring in yet another risk to get busted, IMO. I'll eventually learn but it just doesn't seem important to me yet. Sooo no ticket's for me Glad you got it all worked out, my friend!

Aye I feel ya! Cars can be a fucking pain in the ass sometimes.. (gas, repairs, tickets, etc). Even though I agree that walking is much safer, cheaper, and healthier.. I find driving almost a nescessity nowadays. Everything is far away where I live, and to be able to get to work I unfortunately have to drive.

My advice is keep being content without a car as long as possible! It will certainly benefit you in many ways.

My mom died driving drunk with me in the car, when I was 12 years old. After that, I had 'carphobia' (there's probably a real word for that), and you couldn't get me in a car for any reason for 2-3 years. And I didn't get a driver's license until I was 24 (8 years past the legal age). And I don't drive a whole lot today, maybe once a week, a lingering remnant of my carphobia.

Do you know what collection agency it is? Because obviously you've been to court, have sent the correct papers out, and they're still calling you. It may not have anything to do with the ticket you recieved, and payed for.

If that agency calls you back, find out who they're with, and why and for what they need the $430 for. If the guy won't give you straight answers, ask to speak to his supervisor. They should be able to tell you more than 'sorry, pay us $430 now.' Something just doesn't sound right with that. Good luck!

It's called Alliance One. (the word makes me shiver).
It sounded really absurd to me as well, until I found out what the problem was this morning. The court didn't let them know I took care of it and confusion was feeding the problem!

Jamstigator, I send my condolences to you my friend. Life can be so unpredictable sometimes.. It certainly never is a bad thing living with extra caution.

    * passes the blunt to ya!
