    Mellowing out

    Can someone give me some advice on how to mellow out, because I'm always shaking and paranoid. The only time I'm not is when I'm taking a shower(because i sing..only in the shower.. or when i pwn one of my friends) I've been told that i have paranoia and that I'm a perfectionist(i don't see how that is related) Do any of you have any suggestions?

    dude when im high in school the same thing happens to me, i freak out and think i cant handle it so i ditch and im paranoid as shit

    so when i want to be high in school, i just smoke some not alot

    so my suggestion is smoke a little less, then put away all ur weed and stuff, get rid of the smell, and get some munchies... THEN RELAX

    good thing you posted this thread

    I've been really fuckin paranoid lately, I usually am, then I get over it but now its getting rediculous

    I'm a lone toker, I like smoking by myself, but it sucks because I get the most paranoid when I smoke at home, everywhere else I'm good

    My main concern are my neighbors, they would snitch at the drop of a hat, my dad doesn't worry, I'm good at making excuses to derail his attention

    Everyone tells me to fuckin get over it, that nothings gonna happen etc, but for some fuckin reason I can't seem to shake it

    note that when I smoke, its not alot at all, a couple of huge bong rips and I'm good to go, I'm also a master at stealth smoking...

    So if anyone can diagnose why the fuck I'm getting like this, please let me know

    Paranoia can be adaptive.

    Go ahead and let it grip you enough so that you continue to go ALL OUT on bust-prevention measures; ie clear eyes, gum/mints, spray, stash management, etc. This is where paranoia and perfectionism intersect.

    But DON'T let it take so strong a hold of your behavior that you are no longer enjoying your smoke. If you are spending your high-time peeping through window curtains, pacing around your house, and looking for the recording devices cops have hidden in your lamps, imo it's spent money and health for no good, and you might as well be doing coke (with which you can have fun doing all of the above paranoid OCD behavior, except while white-knuckle gripping a loaded revolver of course, and sweating a little more). YMMV.

    Could be your personality. Have you ever thought about talking to a guidance counseler or psychologist? Everyonce in a while, I can feel 'nervous'. I do something I like to refocus my mind...go out and take pictures, play a video game, watch the news. Just something to change gears in my head.

    But if this happens even when you don't smoke, you really should talk to someone. If unchecked, it can grow worse.

    Maybe it's not paranoia; rather, an anxiety disorder.
    Very common and treatable.
    As Big Calhoun says, a counselor can point you in the right direction.
    I realized I was having panic attacks a little over a year ago after going through my whole life not feeling 'quite right', got help, tried a couple psych meds, and found one that works for me.
    No more panic attacks...FINALLY!... now when I'm anxious, I know there's a REAL reason for it!

    paranioa is a form of self obsession, the truth is that the world does not revolve around you. You need to take yourself less seriously and maybe you'll even get to the point where you can laugh at yourself.You'll be much happier.

    weed doesn't help by the way.
