mini fridge for cool air

I have a mini fridge lying around and was wondering if my grow room is in a place where it might get relatively hot could I hook up a thermostat in the "greenhouse" and a computer fan with a pipe leading from the refridgerator so when the temps rise to over say 78 the comp fan will switch on and send cool air into the room?

The plan is an aeroponics system so humidity shouldn't be a problem.

sounds kinda of like a good idea how would u get a pipe in a closed refrigerator.

pipe saw thru the side of it the size of the comp fan for the outlet.

I think that is a silly idea.
Refrigerators have a heat exchange on them.
Plus they have a pump.
Your net heat gain/loss would actually be a heat GAIN.
Plus they are not designed to be efficient for that application.
Why don't you just spring for an a/c unit?
Use the microfridge for a clone chamber. Just unplug it first.

stinky i think he ment he was going to have the fridge in another area NOT in the grow room. i would agree with you if it was in the growroom but if its not i think it would work to an extent. go for it if it works then great but if it doesnt then oh well what did you lose? an old mini fridge that you werent using. good luck

thats correct i meant lying next to the grow room not inside of it. and ya its just a worthless mini fridge so i might just go ahead and try.

ok well put it this way. if your grow "room" is smaller than the inside of the fridge then you MAY have a chance....I mean think about it the fridge is built to cool the space it has withen itslef not anything bigger, they just wer'nt designed to work like that.
