What is your religion?
I was born Christian and gave up Christ when I wanted to become Jewish. Then I got tired of reading about religious texts and realized that people have been contemplating the very same thing , fighting over the very same thing for thousands of years. So I've abandoned conventional religion altogether, because I don't believe it takes belief in something unseen to find the kingdom of heaven.
My personal beliefs tend to be Buddhist for the simple reason that I feel we can detach from suffering with the right kind of attitude. I reject Christianity because I know the scriptures have been changed, manipulated and perverted--not to mention all the atrocities committed by Christians and Catholics over the years. It is basically a confidence trick--to submit to the will of Jesus is submitting to the will of church. The Church , before it was the nice friendly place where you could get saved , was just another word for political ruler. The church told everybody what to do, how to do it, told the people of the Pope's "papal infalibility". To top it all off--to ensure that you do whatever they say, they falsify a story of how you will burn in hell (literately feeling your flesh burning) forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever, should you choose to reject Jesus Christ as a savior (thus rejecting the church's form of mind control over fearful people).
As history proves it, the church (and most religious institutions) have been used as a tool to control everybody. We see this in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as well as other worldly religions.
So, as it is so well-worded and spoken by Eve Libertine of Crass, "I'll make no subscription to your paradise". Bravo! We don't need people telling us what is right and pure, when the very people telling us what to do are out molesting our boys, fighting wars, suicide bombing, jihading, creating dogma which only hinders the progress and potential of this world.
It's not that I don't believe in a divine god, I just don't believe what I've been told my whole life. If I meet my creator when I die, then I will thank him for giving me such a mind that allowed me to think for myself--for allowing me to reject the heresey spread by the majority of people.
Relgion--it's just another form of mind control.
