I just got my light in from gchydro.com, nice people and quick delivery. I got a 400w mh/hps switchable. got BigBud seeds from nirvana.. highly recommended, very discreet and quick delivery.
I'm using a 10 gal bucket for 3 plants in hydro bubbler (1st time), and a soil/perlite mix for my other 3 plants. Since i have experience in plant murder.. i'll try and and see which survive.
I'm using several small fans for air vent.
I have plans of the bottom shelf area as a seedling/clone grow are.
... does anyone have any experience growing in this type of cabinet?
... and does anyone know how to cut the shelf off? ..remember its metal.
any help is appreciated.
thanks!LadyIgnite Reviewed by LadyIgnite on . Storage Cabinet as Grow Box.. could use advise Hi, As a new grower, i've already killed my first crop. Never seen anyone use a metal cabinet. I'd guess that's because not everyone has the tools available to cut metal and such, whereas holesaws and drills and stuff that work on wood are cheap. Wish I could help ya!

If you can get your hands on a SAW ZALL It will rip through metal or wood or anything no problem. It looks like a Gun but it has a blade on the end. It will do the job no problem.. You can probs rent one at HomeDpot

Saw Zall is the trick unless you want to use brute force and stomp it out witch might cause some cosmetic damage. Best bet is the Saw Zall. You are going to need more than a few little fans to cool off the cab. Do a test run in the cab to check heat before you germ your seeds or you may have another dead grow on your hands.
Hmm after rereading this short apistle I think that if the shelf is connected with some ribits then you might be able to hammer them out. You also might be able to jimmy a flat head screw driver along the brackets and hammer them loose.
