Sombody I know set up three dishes of water for her cats: one had water filtered by a Brita, one had plain tap water, and one had bottled water (I forget which brand). The cats always went for the Brita water.

Does this mean anything? I don't know.

Another thing I heard years ago: Cats that hear the sound of cats, and other animals, on vinyl records, played on analog audio equipment, respond like it's "real" - but don't pay any attention to CD's with the same recordings.

My cats like ice water, too. Strange, but I guess they know they live in Texas where it's hot.

My husband spends far more energy than any intelligent man I know trying to prevent cats from drinking out of the toilet or walking on the counters or the furniture. I don't know why he even wastes his time. The minute we're out of the house, they're having a field day doing exactly what they want. They're cats. It's what they do.

perhaps I can give your hubby some good advice cause my cats don't go on the counters when I am not home,and I can prove it,they used to though... He needs to know that ,first and foremost, love and respect,,, they come around and respect you back... cats are simple like people,love and respect grants love and respect...
